Peony Bouquet Dryer Sheet Technique

This card was created for the Altenew Inspiration Challenge for this month. I used a center focal grouping of flowers and a sentiment on the lower left corner to coordinate with the inspiration image. I Just love the Peony Bouquet set. It's my first layering set from Altenew and it's so fun to play with due to the many, many possibilities and variations.
I masked areas to create the "bouquet" and used some of the Altenew layering ink cubes for the flowers and leaves. I wanted a soft outline so I used grey ink from Hero Arts. I used some Prisma colored pencils to give the flowers and leaves a little more depth since I was going to be covering it with a used dryer sheet.
This used dryer sheet technique gives the image a "fabric" look and soft texture. I stamped the bouquet and sprayed it with shimmer mist, then took a well-used dryer sheet, sprayed the back with adhesive and pressed it onto the image. This gives it a very soft look with a kind of gauze-like texture, for lack of a better term. I then adhered some gold confetti to accent.
I just love the Nuvo Gilding Flakes and with the tiny amount it takes to cover an area, I know they will last me a long time. They give a completely unique look unlike gold stock or embossing powder (the photo really doesn't do it justice). I used Spellbinders square dies to create the frame and stacked a few to give it a little dimension. I then ran the top layer of the frame through my Xyron to coat the front in adhesive for the gilding flakes.
I used the "you" from a thank you die set (not sure the brand) and the sentiment is from a "you" stamp set (which I think is from Simon Says Stamp) and is white heat embossed on the smallest banner from the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Banners cut from My Favorite Things Steel Grey stock, the same as the base. The dry embossed panel is from Strathmore Watercolor stock. I love the feel of this stock and it's nice and thick with the tiniest bit of texture.
