Altenew Sketch Challenge #7

Every now and then I see a stamp or die set come through my blog Feedly and I know "have to have it!" I can come up with cards, layouts, or projects immediately in my mind.  The Altenew Snapshots Stamp & Die set was one of those products. I couldn't wait to order it and do something with an Instax Photo.

I typically make cards and don't scrapbook (due to time constraints). Right after I received the stamp and die set my daughter had a Trashion Fashion Show at her school where they make apparel from repurposed materials. My daughter is very petite and her team decided she should be the model because she would "take less materials"!

The stamp set comes with many layers making it easy to colorize your photo. I used Distress Oxide inks in Twisted Citron, Wilted Violet, and Peacock Feathers for a good solid coverage, plus, I knew I wanted this particular color combination. I used the Paper Smooches Uplifters Stamp Set to repeatedly stamp "You Totally Rock" in Peacock Feathers on Simon Says Stamp Audrey Blue stock for a background.  I used the Paper Smooches Slang Gang Stamp Set for the "adorbs" sentiment which fit perfectly (the Snapshots set also come with sentiments that fit perfect in this spot).  I used the Concord & 9th Perfectly Penned Stamp Set for the "fashionista".  This stamp set is WELL USED!!  I love being able to make such custom or unique sentiments.

I gave the card to my daughter.  I was actually going to keep it because I loved the photo and memory until I saw the Altenew Sketch Challenge #7 come through my Feedly!!  I decided to make a larger framed version for my craft room.  And...I got a little carried away.  Hopefully, you can see glimpses of the sketch in my layout with the feature and title placements and circles.

I used black duct tape and torn newspaper on the background because that is what her dress was made out of and I wanted a little texture.  I tied in the colors of the dress with some Wilted Violet and Black Soot ink blending on the newspaper.  I got to use my new "Merry Christmas To Me" We R Memory Keepers Typecast typewriter!  I remember playing on my mom's typewriter like this one when I was a kid and with my pashion for fonts and typefaces I've been wanting it for sooooo long but couldn't justify the full price...then I found it at Tuesday Morning!  I think I squealed out loud in the store when I saw it!

I used some sentiments from the Snapshots Stamp Set, a date stamp, and a "#nailedit" sentiment from the Butterfly Reflections #Hashtag Stamp Set (another one of those immediately-have-to-have stamp sets!) It's a bit busy but I love it!  It will make me smile when I see it in my craft room.

Thanks for checking out my project!
