Lip Smackers Valentine using My Favorite Things Lip Balm Window and Frame Die-Namics MTF1203

FREEBIE Alert!!! I created this custom graphic for Valentine’s Day, I also have one for Christmas. I should be able to dedicate more time to my little blog here in the future and would love to get some followers! I will be giving a free pdf to the first 25 subscribers. You can choose between Valentine’s Day or Christmas.

I LOVE this MTF Lip Balm Window and Frame die set and the corresponding My Favorite Things Lip Balm Shaker Pouches 2610 it is so crazy fun to work with. I purchased this set to create a Christmas Card (hope to post later) where the lip balm was at the base of a Christmas tree. I took an InStax photo of me and my daughter with red kissy lips, typed “Merry Kissmas” on the photo, and taped them inside the cards. For sure my most fav Christmas card.

I created a video for this Valentine card but have not edited it yet. It will be my first video so it will be rough!! I will post it later if there is interest but I thought with Valentine’s Day creeping up so quickly I better just get the post out.

pssst…I recently created an Etsy shop with this card as my first item if would like to purchase as opposed to create! I have two color options of the Valentine available.

This card is simple to put together. I setup the graphic, four to a page, positioned for minimal cuts. I recently purchased the My Favorite Things Essential Sentiment Rip Strip to use in combination with the lip balm die set (got the idea on YouTube, will add credit later if I can track it down). For the Christmas version of this card I did not have the rip strip which works as well. I simply made a partial die cut to where the flap would fold back instead of rip open. Either would allow you to ad shaker bits.

I used a Stampin’ Up Valentine Paper Pumpkin and die cut the XOXO out of the rip strip on the first several design I created and used the pieces from the die as shaker bits. I gave one of the cards to a little girl and the XOXO die cut seemed to make the rip a tiny bit more challenging to rip straight so on the second batch I skipped this step (The XOXO die-cut also let some of the shaker bits slip through).

While I had the Stampin’ Up set out, I thought, “Oh my gosh, how did I miss the appropriate awesomeness of this stamp!!” So I stamped the insides of both batches of cards I created. Since I used Rich Razzelberry and Melon Mambo stock, I used the corresponding inks. Some Pretty Pink Posh clear sequins finished off the design.

I hope you find inspiration in this design. I definitely recommend this die set from My Favorite Things. I plan to make a birthday card and St. Patrick’s Day cards soon and will post those ideas as well!
